HOW IT WORKS

Far Infrared is the natural safe invisible light waves that come from the sun, these light waves are felt as warmth on the body and can penetrate your body up to 2 inches deep.  The penetrating light waves cause micro vibrations within sub cutaneous fat cells allowing them to purge the heavy metals and toxins trapped within. This change in heating methodology not only creates a much more comfortable environment over traditional saunas, it also unlocks an abundance of additional health benefits that traditional saunas just can’t match.

The saunas work by using infrared wavelengths of light to heat the body itself, rather than heating the space around it. There are three wavelengths—short, medium, and far, with far being the most intense form: The heat vibrates water molecules in the body so much that they break down. The result, according to supporters, is a healthy release of toxins that you sweat out.

Infrared temperatures range from 110 to 120 degrees Fahrenheit rather than the conventional 160. That’s why an infrared sauna is cozy and dry, not sweltering and musty like a regular health club sauna.

Infrared technology (FIR) is a non-invasive form of light therapy that penetrates the body as much as three inches.  Optimal FIR wavelengths vary in size between 5.6 microns and 20 microns. This process heats muscle tissue and internal organs without heating the surrounding air.  This helps the organs and tissues push toxins into the blood stream where they can be eliminated through the perspiration process.

PROTOCOLS FOR USING THE INFRARED SAUNA:

It is important for individuals not to overdo themselves in an infrared sauna but instead to allow it to gradually pull toxins. It essential to maximize hydration both before and after sauna usage.  Also, a mineral and anti-oxidant rich diet is extremely critical for healthy sauna usage and detoxification processes.

Most infrared saunas run at about 110-140 degrees Fahrenheit while typical steam saunas are around 150-200 degrees (7).   Following the sauna with a hot-cold cycled shower improves the detoxification process and closes down the pores, tones the skin and invigorates the body.
